Powerful oxidizers, such as chlorine, can help control algae but offer some challenges to inject properly. Chlorine, as is the case with acid, is applied in very small quantities such that with most injectors even standard, off the shelf bleach (5.25%) must be mixed with water to create a solution of the proper concentration to deliver the low level of PPM needed to control the algae.
Also, when using electric injectors, the PPM injected is not automatically adjusted when the water flow rate changes without expensive add on features.
In most cases, the Chemilizer CP33 lets you avoid these issues. The CP33 is designed to inject low volumes of concentrated solutions into high water flows. Since the injection solution is not mixed inside the injector itself, it avoids excessive motor life reduction experienced with most non-electric injectors. It also allows injection of undiluted chemicals for most applications avoiding those safety and error problems caused by dilution. Because of its unique design, the CP33 allows you to simply calculate the amount of chemical you require per hour at your maximum flow rate and then set that rate of injection on the Injection Control Panel. The wide range of injection provided allows you to treat very high flows of water with a single injector and, should your flow rate change, the CP33 will automatically adjust the rate of injection.
Since the oxidizer only comes in contact with the injection pump which is designed for that purpose, product life is extended and the use of strong solutions do not create costly maintenance. In most cases, an inexpensive pump rebuild is required that can be accomplished in minutes without tools. This feature coupled with a 2 year warranty on the water motor that includes normal wear guarantees the most cost effective injector for the job.
For example, let’s say you wish to use SelectrocideTM and you need about .25 PPM injected in your water at all times to keep the pipes and heads clear of algae. You have a 100 GPM water flow, so you need to inject 3 gallons of Selectrocide solution per hour to achieve .25 PPM. To accomplish this you just set the CP33 for 3 GPH of injection and, if your water flow should vary, the CP33 is designed to keep the correct volume of Selectrocide injecting at all times. The CP33 can be used to inject products like Eco-clean or common chlorine without dilution to achieve the required PPM result. Note: The CP33 should be set when your water flow is at its highest level.
In addition, the CP33 is certified by the Water Quality Association not to add any harmful chemicals into your water supply, www.wqa.org.
